Job Role The role will entail:

• Developing test specifications from formal specifications.
• Developing test scripts from test specifications.
• Executing test scripts.

Experience / Skills required :

• A First class or upper second degree in relevant engineering discipline - or significant industrial experience.
• Candidates are likely to have at least five years working in a relevant discipline or industry sector.
• Development methods are likely to have included rigorous or disciplined processes.
• Relevant sectors are civil and military aerospace, air traffic management, nuclear, mainline and underground rail.
• A sound appreciation of the underlying principles of software engineering for complex safety-related systems.
• Either practical experience with formal specification methods; or an appreciation of their role and a willingness to learn how to read formal specifications.
• A willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and languages.
• An ability to think analytically, rigorously and creatively.
• An ability to carry out detailed justified work to commercial and technical requirements, and to be able to constructively criticise and assess others' work.
• The ability and personal drive to work in teams or alone, with client and Praxis staff.
• Knowledge of industry-standard tools and techniques, and a critical appreciation of their strengths and weaknesses.
• Ideally one or more of Z, Ada83, Ada95, SPARK Ada, Python, Perl, Ruby, UNIX shell scripting.
